MandarinStars is a Chinese enrichment centre designed to support students who face challenges with the mainstream MOE Chinese curriculum. Our programme is developed by educators specialising in Chinese curriculum design, teaching strategies, special education, and cognitive psychology.
We first assess students' ability in Chinese and then teach them at a pace that matches their learning needs.
Many students dread Chinese because of the rote learning. We work hard at teaching Chinese in creative new ways.
We scaffold by breaking down the lesson into many smaller parts that are introduced to the student in a structured way.
By helping students make small gains, we build their confidence and overcome any fear of Chinese.
Our teachers plan and teach MOE curriculum and strategies developed by our in-house curriculum team.
We teach reading, vocabulary, spelling, comprehension and essay writing according to school textbooks.
